Choosing the right home wiring is not only crucial for ensuring a stable power supply for daily life but also a key factor in preventing electrical hazards such as short circuits and fires.Given the long service life of home wiring (usually 15 to 20 years), making scientific and reasonable choices during the decoration phase is essential for long-term household safetyand efficiency.

First, prioritize copper-core wires over aluminum-core wires when selecting home wiring. This preference is based on significant differences in performance between the twomaterials. Copper has a conductivity approximately 1.6 times higher than aluminum; underthe same current load, aluminum-core wires generate 20% to 30% more heat than copper-core wires, increasing the risk of insulation layer melting. Additionally, aluminum is prone to oxidation when in contact with air, forming an oxide film on the surface that increases contact resistance—this can lead to poor connections at wire joints, causing local overheating and even sparking over time. In contrast, copper-core wires have excellent corrosion resistance and ductility, with a service life 5 to 8 years longer than aluminum-corewires. These advantages make copper-core wires the ideal choice for long-term home use, especially in areas with high power consumption (such as kitchens and bathrooms).

Second, select the appropriate wire gauge (cross-sectional area) based on the power requirements of different household circuits. This step directly affects the safety and efficiency of power supply:1.5mm² for lighting circuits, 2.5mm² for socket circuits (for appliances like fridges), and 4mm²for high-power devices (air conditioners, water heaters). Avoid undersized wires, which cause overheating and fire risks.

Third, check certifications—only use wires with China’s 3C mark or international certifications (UL, VDE) to ensure compliance with safety norms.

Finally, opt for wires with flame-retardant insulation materials to minimize fire risks. Common flame-retardant insulation materials include PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene), each with unique advantages: PVC insulation: Has a temperature resistance range of -15℃ to 70℃, good flexibility, and low cost, making it suitable for general indoor environments such as living rooms and bedrooms.

XLPE insulation: Can withstand temperatures up to 90℃ or higher, has excellent resistance to high temperatures and aging, and is less prone to cracking in high-humidity environments. It is especially suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas where temperatures and humidity fluctuate significantly.

Both types of insulation materials meet national flame-retardant standards: in the event of a fire, they can self-extinguish within 30 seconds and do not release large amounts of toxic smoke, providing valuable time for household escape. Our company’s home wires fully comply with all the above standards, undergoing 10,000-hour aging tests and 500-cycle temperature shock tests to ensure stable performance in long-term use, offering homeowners worldwide peace of mind regarding safety and efficiency.
